World Jump Rope Sport Carnet with Boomerang

The ATA Carnet is an internationally accepted customs document for temporarily exported merchandise, goods, or professional equipment.  It allows cross border movement of goods import-duty and -tax free into 87+ carnet countries and territories for up to a year.  The ATA Carnet is known as “The Merchandise Passport” or “Passport for Goods”.  It can serve as the Certificate of Registration (CBP 4455) allowing goods re-entry into the U.S. duty free.  WJRF shipped goods via cargo to Norway consisting of yard signs, country flags, scales, cables, adapters, radios, power strips, printers, banners, and office equipment.  All essential items required for running a smooth and successful competition.

Jump Rope Teams from 28 countries converged to compete for 10 days in many and various categories of the sport: Triple Unders, Single Rope, Single Rope Pairs Double-Unders, Freestyle, and Double-Dutch, to name a few.  Age groups of competitors ranged from “under 10” to “over 30” with every age class in between closely grouped.  Speed heats were conducted within peer groups in quick succession where each jump rope skipper was assigned a judge and speeds were measured and posted instantly on large screens.  Aside from country team names like Russia, China, Team Japan, there were also spirited team names like ProForm Airborne, Kangaroo Kids, Jazzy Jumpers, and the Tsunami Skippers.  

Since the competition, WJRF merged with Fédération Internationale de Saut à la Corde to form the International Jump Rope Union (IJRU).  The merger brings them a step closer to having Jump Rope recognized as an official Olympic sport.  According to the IJRU merger statement: “Our goal is to merge both organizations to create a new International Federation that will be recognized by the Global Association of International Sports Federations.  This recognition will place our sport firmly in line with the Olympic movement and best practices of sport.”
