April 1st, 2011 is not a Joke to the U.A.E. Customs Service

Thursday, March 3, 2011

On April 1st, 2011 the United Arab Emirates will begin accepting ATA Carnets for trade fairs and exhibitions. Just one-third of Middle Eastern countries participate in the ATA Carnet systems and U.A.E. will increase the number from seven to eight: Algeria, Israel, Iran, Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Turkey and the U.A.E. As with all countries new to the system, the first carnet users will be support by a "virtual" carnet concierge. That is, one of CIB's Carnet Specialists will work closely with carnet users through the entire process to ensure that the process runs smoothly through U.A.E. customs. Operators are ready to take your calls about using a carnet to the U.A.E.
