Indonesia Increasingly Attracts Carnet Users

Within week one of carnets being accepted in Indonesia earlier this year, U.S. exporters were selecting Indonesia as a destination on their carnet application. Seven months later, fifty-one carnet applicants had selected Indonesia as a destination. Indonesia as a carnet destination has been increasing, with 40% of the carnet use occurring within the past two months.

As is typical with new carnet countries, the first user was a filmmaker for the BBC program One Planet.

Since that first week of carnet use in May, museums, universities, film crews, defense contractors, energy companies, biotech firms, scientific instrument manufacturers, theme parks and researchers, to name a few, have all used carnets to Indonesia.
