Carnet Processing Fees to Increase on February 1st, 2016

Wednesday, December 2, 2015

The U.S. ATA Carnet authorities (the National Guaranteeing Association), United States Council for International Business, has announced a carnet processing fee increase as of February 1st, 2016.

The new processing fee schedule increases the number of pricing tiers from four to six.The tiers are ranges of General List values which the processing fees are based on. The lowest tier ($1-$9,999) will cost $235 and the highest tier ($1,000,000+) will cost $475. At the two lowest tiers this represents 4.4% and 7.7% increases. However, the comparisons end there due to the changes to the tiers.

Prices to all other carnet ancillary services such as certificates (counterfoils and vouchers) will not change.

The savings by using a carnet versus paying the duties and taxes are still substantial despite the rate increase: See the Savings.
