Duty Free Miles
History of Duty Free Miles®
Duty Free Miles® is a promotional program designed by Corporation for International Business in the mid-1990s: the early days of air mile rewards programs. The program is designed to reward ATA Carnet users for their loyalty and for using Corporation for International Business for all their carnet needs. At the beginning of the program there were also rewards given out as an incentive to use CIB's brand new electronic carnet application. The carnet industry was transitioning from paper to electronic applications and CIB was eager to have applicants experience the benefits of electronic applications.
How it worked:
Registered participants in the program receive mileage awards when their carnet production increases year-to-year. Miles are awarded in 500-mile increments after registering with the CIB Carnet HelpLineā (800)ATA-2900.
Participating Airlines:
Delta Airlines and Delta SkyRewards
United Airlines and United Mileage Plus
