CIB ATA CARNET ADVISORY

Duration of Health Certificate Determines Validity Period of Carnet

May 19, 2003

German customs typically grant the validity period of a Carnet for live animal(s) based on the duration of a health certificate. If the duration of a health certificate is three months, the German customs will restrict the entry of the live animal(s) to three months.

Check #2, "Final Date" on the importation counterfoil to determine the date by which the live animals(s) must be re-exported.

If you experience any problems or have questions about this advisory please contact the CIB Carnet HelpLine at (800) ATA-2900 or e-mail us.
