CURACAO TO BEGIN ACCEPTING ATA CARNETS JUNE 29, 2007
United States Council for International Business announced on June 29, 2007 that Curacao, Netherlands Antilles (part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands), would begin accepting ATA Carnets as a means of temporary importation, though they are not formally part of the ATA Carnet system.
By obtaining a Carnet importers will avoid the posting of 3% duty otherwise payable at the time of import.
Curacao has given the United States Council for International Business no indication that they won't accept carnets under all the conventions. As a precautionary note, CIB does not guarantee the acceptance of carnets by Curacao Customs.
Please contact Curt Wilson at the CIB Carnet HelpLine®, (800) ATA-2900, for additional information if you are planning to use a carnet for travel to Curacao.
